I love my children very much and they love me. I can't imagine my world without them. I love my family and friends. I am thankful for everyone in my life that mean so much to me.

LOVE means showing appreciation, respect, kindness to the ones you love. It's great if we can share happy times and laugh. Laughing is the best medicine in life. I truly believe that. Always saying your sorry when your wrong, and never going a day without letting people know just how much they mean to you. Life is short. We need to know what and who our priorities are. Love is a beautiful and powerful thing. I hope everyone has an opportunity to experience it in their lifetimes. Everybody deserves that!

Remembering Whitney Houston. RIP

A beautiful woman with a beautiful voice. Whitney Houston has passed away today at the young age of 48. This is devastating and tragic news. So very sad. Whitney Houston was one of the most talented singers. How could you not hear "I will always love you" and not get chills throughout your whole entire body. I have listened to her music ever since I was a little girl, and loving to sing myself she was an idol. Whitney Houston will never be forgotten, and there will never be another. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends, and I know there are a lot of shocked fans who will always remember Whitney. Heaven has been blessed with a magical voice. RIP sweet angel.

Happy Sweet 16, and Ginger Rogers cake

Earlier this week I celebrated my daughter's 16th birthday. I can't believe how fast the time goes. Our children grow up so fast it seems, and it feels like just yesterday I was holding her in my arms. I have to remind myself always to treasure each and every moment. She will forever be my sweet princess. She's growing up to be such a beautiful and smart young lady. My twin boys who I call my little monkeys turned 7 years old a few days after their sister. They are hyper and full of life. I wouldn't have it any other way even if they drive me crazy all the time. My children are my whole world. They make me incredibly happy, and I'm so thankful for them! xo

Here is the beautiful Ginger Rogers cake my daughter had, she's a major fan of Classic Hollywood like me and Ginger is her idol. I think it turned out fabulous!

Wife to comedian/actor Sacha Baron Cohen, mother of two beautiful daughters, Isla has proven herself to be a great actress who is also down to earth, gorgeous and one of a kind. My favorite movies with Isla are Confessions of a Shopaholic and Wedding Crashers. She last starred in Rango, but I have a feeling we will be seeing this girl for many years to come. The girl with the Vintage Blue Shoes

Ever found something amazing at an antique store and wondered about the story behind it? Well this happened to me the other day. I was shopping at my favorite place when I spotted these pretty vintage blue shoes. They were $22.00 and it just so happened the seller was selling everything in their booth 50% off. That was it for me. I just had to buy them!

When I was driving home looking at my fabulous find I started to wonder. Who wore them? Where did they come from? They are pretty worn down so I know somebody got a lot of use out of them. Did they even dance in them at one time? All of this amazed me and I knew they were just more then a simple pair of shoes. They had a story behind them and for me that was a fascinating thing. Now if only they were not so small. A size 5 or so. The ladies back in the day had such small feet.I remember my dear sweet Grandma and her beautiful shoes. I use to play dress up with them all of the time. I think they are great, and I will treasure these shoes always. I love these little blue gems♥.

Novak Djokovic: 2012 Australian Open Champion

My congratulations to the 2012 Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic. Today he beat Rafael Nadal in an epic 5 hr 53 minute major final. Novak played amazing. He looked tired and worn down, but fought till the bitter end for this incredible win. I am so proud of him, and he's becoming one of the best tennis players of today. Roger Federer will always be my #1 but Novak has definitely found a place in my heart.

She's sassy and sweet. A down to earth southern girl. Reese Witherspoon is defiantly one of my favorite actor's today. I've never seen a bad movie with her. She's beautiful, and I love that she's always stayed grounded no matter how famous she's become. That is very rare in Hollywood these days. I think Sweet Home Alabama has got to be my favorite, but I still remember loving her in a movie long ago called Freeway. That movie cracked me up, and Reese Witherspoon always makes me happy. I couldn't think of anyone better for today's Diva Wednesday. I hope she continues to make movies for years to come. I think we can all agree on that.

Remembering Audrey Hepburn, 19 years later. RIP

It's hard to believe Audrey Hepburn left us 19 years ago today. Audrey Hepburn is my idol. She was beautiful, classy and a real lady. She is someone I would have loved to sit down and talk to for hours. So down to earth and a had wonderful heart. Audrey was flawless in every way, and she was taken from us way too soon. I hope this beautiful angel is smiling down from us in heaven while we enjoy her movies, and admire her gorgeous photos. There will never be another Audrey Hepburn. She was one of a kind.

Monday Matinee: My Date with Jimmy & Grace; Rear Window

Tonight I had a date with Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly. I watched a screening of the fabulous classic movie Rear Window. I love this movie, and it was really neat to see it on the big screen. Jimmy Stewart is my favorite actor after Cary Grant, and Grace Kelly is simply beautiful and breathtaking. An awesome thriller and I had the time of my life. I also shared this event with my 15 year old daughter who loves the classics just as much as I do. It was a great night! Fabulous memories I will cherish forever.

Grace Kelly was the definition of style and class. She was a beautiful Princess that had so much promise. A wonderful actress who always had a mysterious way about her. My favorite movies with Grace are Rear Window and To Catch a Thief. We lost her way too soon. Today on Diva Wednesday, we celebrate the life and legacy of Grace Kelly. Her memory and gorgeous photos will live on forever for generations to come. RIP sweet angel. You are still loved and admired by many. xo

Addicted to Dexter

I know I'm totally out of the loop here. Dexter is already in Season 6. I have Showtime but never watched it, and I've heard so many great things about this show from friends and family. So I decided to finally rent Season one and I must say I'm totally hooked. I can't wait to see what happens next. I love the premise of this show and I love Dexter! Lord knows the average person has wanted to take the law in their own hands to get REAL justice:-) So far I am loving it and I can't wait to rent Season two. So Exciting! Any other Dexter fans out there?

My Date with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck

I sure wished I still lived in California. They seem to always be showing a classic movie some where, but I've been lucky enough to see four here in Texas. Breakfast at Tiffany's, North by Northwest, Swingtime and now Roman Holiday. I love Audrey Hepburn. She's my favorite actress and Idol. I remember growing up and thinking she was the most beautiful woman, and she seemed like she had the sweetest soul. I would love to have met her. I think I could watch Breakfast at Tiffany's over and over and never get tired of it. Audrey was a wonderful actress, and she seemed to portray every character perfectly. What's your favorite Audrey movie?

Princess Ann, played by Audrey Hepburn is overwhelmed by the demands of the lifestyle that is expected of her. She seems to want to live a "normal" life at least for a bit, so she leaves one night without anyone knowing her whereabouts. She meets a man in a taxi named Joe Bradley played by Gregory Peck. Joe is a reporter for a local newspaper. Ann was given a sedative before leaving which makes her very sleepy, and unable to know where she is. Joe brings her back to his place to sleep it off not knowing her true identity. The next day at work he finds out she is a Princess, but decides not to tell Ann because this could finally be his big break for his "big" story.

The next hours are filled with many questions from Joe trying to find out about Ann's life when all she wants to do is be someone else for a while. They spend the day together doing things they have always wanted to do. Joe seems to slowly fall in love with Ann (her as well) all the while trying to get information about her. When later that evening Ann is found by the governement agents sent to look for her, she realizes their relationship can't continue and she needs to go back. She says goodbye and heads to the Embassy.

The next day Ann is at a news conference where she sees Joe and finds out he is a reporter. He lets her know in a quiet way that her secret is safe with him, and decides to never report on anything he found out about her, or release any of the pictures he had his friend take of the princess. It's truly hearbreaking at the end for me seeing that these two love each other, but know they can't be together. I still like to imagine that somehow they did find one another at the right time and lived happily ever after. Roman Holiday is a funny, touching story and one that everybody should see at least once, especially if lucky enough on the big screen.

I took these in the theatre. This is my favorite part when they are driving around on a motorcycle seeing the beautiful scenes of the city. She's having fun and laughing. Such a lovely part of the movie.

Happy Birthday to the beautiful Irene Dunne. Irene has been described as the "best actress" never to have won an Academy Award. She was nominated five times during her career for movies Cimarron, The Awful Truth, I Remember Mama, Theodora Goes Wild and Love Affair. My favorite movie is The Awful Truth starring the very handsome Cary Grant. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to watch this amazing actress and fall in love with her again and again each and every time we see one of her films. Irene Dunne, I hope your celebrating in style! RIP, beautiful angel.

Monday Matinee: Lucille Ball

I finally get to start my Monday Movie Matinee's again. Today we feature the lovely Lucille Ball. She's my favorite comedian. She was a feisty and strong woman which I always admire. She still makes me laugh to this day, and I have been lucky enough to share her talents with my children now who enjoy her as much as I always did.

Lucille Ball was born August 6, 1911 in Jamestown New York. She was a TV, Radio, Film and Stage actress. She was the first woman to run a major television studio Desilu. Some of Lucille Ball's movies include Too many girls, Fancy Pants, The Long Long Trailer Forever Darlin and Yours, Mine and Ours. She even starred in five of Fred Astaire and Ginger Roger's films whom she was a distant cousin of Rogers.

I Love Lucy is one of my all time favorite shows. I still watch episodes that make me laugh over and over. Lucy also starred in her own shows The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy and the short lived Life with Lucy. Lucille Ball was amazing. A talent that will never be duplicated. Lucy was taken away from us far too soon. Known for her trademark red hair, Lucille will forever remain in our hearts and memories for generations to come.

My newest guilty pleasure: Revenge

I'm hooked and obsessed! I can't wait for Wednesday nights at 9pm for ABC's Revenge. It's truly the best show I've seen in a really long time.

Emily Thorne who's real name is Amanda Clarke, moves back to The Hamptons as an adult to take Revenge on the people who destroyed her father's life years before. Amanda's father was arrested when she was a young child on terrorism charges that were false, and was wrongly convicted for treason. He died in prison. Amanda is then sent to a juvenile detention facility until the age of 18. When she is released she learns that she has inherited the wealth of the company in which her father had invested. The information left behind from her father (journals, letters and tapes) is given to her by a young man named Nolan Ross who knew Amanda's father and her as a young girl. Nolan is the only one who learns of her identity when she moves back. He offers to help her in the plot to get revenge. Her first sights are set on the powerful and rich Grayson Family who are the main culprits in bringing her father down. She must do this without anyone uncovering her true identity.

In every episode some one must go down and the plot seems to thicken each week as things get a little more complicated with new characters coming into the mix. So enjoyable and keeps you guessing every week. I'm always wanting more and more with each episode that I watch.

While I was gone we lost someone so very special. I was truly devastated when Andy Whitfield passed away. The Spartacus star was battling Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. He fought and won his first battle going into remission only to have it return months later. This time sadly he could not beat this horrible disease. He was only 39 years old. Andy Whitfield was not only extremely talented, handsome, funny and kind, but he was someone who was going places. I truly feel he would have done so many great things in his life and career if given the chance. He was a loving husband and father of two small children. I thought my first post back I would dedicate it to Andy because his loss was so huge and painful for so many of his fans. God Bless you Warrior wherever you are. You truly will be missed, but never forgotten. xo

Although not really shocking it sure is extremely sad. Amy Winehouse was a tortured soul yet she was a free spirit and amazing talent. She now joins the list of 27 year old rock stars like Janice Joplin, Jim Morrison and Jimmy Hendrix to die so young and tragically. Another reminder of how life can be so fragile and short. My hope is Amy is finally at peace, and others can learn from this experience to get their lives back on track if they have problems as well. Life is just too precious♥

She was beautiful, talented, independent, funny and had true charisma. She was Ginger Rogers. Not only was she Fred's partner, Ginger was her own person. It's been 16 years since we lost her, and it's time to celebrate the gifts she left us here to enjoy. Ginger Rogers is a joy to watch in wonderful movies such as Shall we Dance, Swingtime, Vivacious Lady (my favorite) Top Hat among so many other fabulous classics including Kitty Foyle in which she won the Oscar. She's my 15 year old daughter's idol which is fantastic, and I just simply adore Ginger. I believe she's making heaven very happy and proud just like she continues to do in all our hearts and minds. To the fabulous woman who did everything Fred did only backwards, and in high heels, Ginger Rogers U R Missed♥

It's finally here! I've been waiting for months to see Water for Elephants and it opens today. I'm a huge Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon fan! I love Anthropologie a lot because it reminds me of that vintage look I adore so much. You can find chic dresses, cardigans, shoes, scarfs, purses and even a new wedding line. They also have some wonderful fragrances and household items. A magical place to browse on a saturday morning and your sure to find something that you love as much as I do.

When I think of fashion the first thing that comes to mind is Audrey Hepburn.

Not only is she my idol, but she was beautiful in every way. From her clothing, hair and makeup styles, Audrey was flawless. I loved her best in Breakfast at Tiffany's and everything she wore was amazing. It never mattered if she was wearing pants with a chic top or a designer dress, Audrey Hepburn was a fashion goddess. I wish she was still around because I know she would be just as fabulous today as she was then.

Remembering Selena 16 years later..RIP

Today we remember the beautiful Tejano singer Selena. She was murdered by the President of her fan club on March 31, 1995. Named the "top Latin artist of the "90s" and "Best selling Latin artist of the decade" by Billboard, for her fourteen top-ten singles in the Top Latin Songs chart, including seven number-one hits Selena was a special girl. She didn't deserve to be taken from this world at the young age of 23. Selena had so much more to do. I was lucky enough last summer to visit her gravesite to pay my respects and the museum that honors her legacy. RIP Selena♥

I would also like to mention Brandon Lee. Son of martial artist Bruce Lee. He passed away 18 years ago today at the young age of 28. Brandon was a rising star. He acted in a few movies and was killed on the set of The Crow after being shot accidently by a prop gun. Very sad. I also think Brandon Lee would have made it big. He was talented and just a very nice guy. So sad. RIP!

We've lost another wonderful actress today. Elizabeth Taylor has passed away at the age of 79. Known for roles in movies Cleopatra, A Place in The Sun, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Elizabeth was beautiful, talented, tough, classy and hardworking humanitarian. A sad moment for all of us, but we are so incredibly lucky that we have her wonderful movies that will live on in our hearts and memories forever. RIP sweet Elizabeth Taylor.

It's hard to believe that my sweet little boys are 6 years old today. It was a surprise when I found out I was having twins. It was not an easy pregnancy and I am so blessed to have these little miracles. They are my favorite boys in the whole wide world. They are growing up so fast, and it's been wonderful to see just what smart and funny little monkeys they have become. They keep this Momma on her toes that is for sure, but I wouldn't change it for the world. They are so incredibly special to me and I hope they have a wonderful and fun day. On this tragic day January 28, 1986 I was in the sixth grade.I remember my Mom was driving me to school after a doctors appointment when we heard it on the radio. It was scary and very sad. God Bless them all.
